Kentucky has played outstanding basketball during this year’s NCAA tournament. Once again, John Calipari has taken the Wildcats to the Final Four and right now, these young groups of guys have a strong chance at winning the national title.

They are a freshman led team, with their most outstanding player this tournament has been forward Julius Randle.  So far for the tournament, he has averaged 15.7 points, 12 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. Randle has had 24 double-doubles this season. He was already looked at as a high NBA draft pick, but with his recent performance, it most certainly looks like he could earn a top five pick. He is also the top rebounder left in the Final Four. The Wildcat team will go as far in the tournament as Randle will carry them, as he is currently Kentucky’s biggest factor to winning this year’s NCAA tournament.

Calipari has these freshmen (Randle, guards Aaron and Andrew Harrison, forward James Young) playing at extremely high levels. He is without a doubt, one of the best college basketball coaches; though he does things his own way, Calipari is still a winner. In their most recent win over the University of Michigan, the Wildcats were led to victory by a three-pointer from Aaron Harrison.  Poised with composure, he made the three with 2.3 seconds left, on the biggest stage in college basketball. He had 12 points in the win, but his big game winning jump shot proved that Calipari has this team playing fearless basketball.  This team is filled with sharp shooters and Calipari has developed them into lethal shooting machines.

Their big win over the No. 1 seed Wichita State already proved that this group can take down the top dogs and their recent win over Michigan proves that this team should never be counted out. To get to this year’s Final Four, the Wildcats have already eliminated three of last year’s Final Four teams, including Louisville, last year’s defending champions.  In tournament history, no one has hard a more difficult road to the Final Four than the University of Kentucky this year.

To get to the championship game, Kentucky must first take down the Wisconsin Badgers. It will be a tough matchup but the Wildcats have a younger and deeper team. Kentucky also has the coaching advantage with head coach Calipari leading the team. This team finally has everything together and it’s going to take them all the way.
