1. Houston Texans: Blake Bortles (QB Central Florida)
It seems more and more likely that the Texans will pass on the best player in the draft to find a franchise QB. Not only does Bortles have the physical attributes that Bill O’Brian new looks for in QBs, he has the a diverse skill set similar to Andrew Luck, with his ability to make all the throws and run the football.
2. St. Louis Rams (From Washington Redskins): Sammy Watkins (WR Clemson)
Watkins is an explosive play-maker, that can stretch the field or make people miss in the open field. He has average height for WRs, but does have a good build to make up for it. He simply makes all the players around him better, with the ability to be a true No. 1 target.
3. Jacksonville Jaguars: Jadaveon Clowney (DE South Carolina)
Clowney is an athletic freak, that is widely considered the best prospect in the entire draft. Jacksonville not only has a need for a dynamic defensive playmaker, but also a defensive minded coach that loves to attack the QB.
4: Cleveland Browns: Mike Evans (WR Texas A&M)
Though the Browns biggest need is at QB, Mike Evans is the type of pass-catcher that could make any offense better. He has the physical size and catch ability to compliment up and comer, Josh Gordon, creating a dangerous tandem.
5. Oakland Raiders: Greg Robinson (OT Auburn)
After the Rodger Saffold failed physical fiasco, the Raiders have a major hole at blind side protection. Robinson is a dominating run-blocker, with good athleticism that handled some of the best defensive lineman in the country, while playing in the SEC.
6. Atlanta Falcons: Khalil Mack (DE/OLB Buffalo)
Mack has the rare size and athletic ability to be a game changer off the edge. Though he comes from a small school, his measureables and performances against top talent prove that he could become just as good (or even better) than Clowney in the NFL. Atlanta needs a strong pass rushing presence after letting John Abraham walk last season.
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Teddy Bridgewater (QB Louisville)
With a new regime coming in, as Lovie Smith returns to Tampa, they have no allegiance to Mike Glennon. Bridgewater fills the biggest question mark for a team with a lot of talent, while bringing in a polished game and the strong leadership ability.
8. Minnesota Vikings: Johnny Manziel (QB Texas A&M)
After failing with Christian Ponder, the Vikings need to address the QB position, with someone who can help them win now. Manziel is an exciting player, that can extend plays while taking attention away from Adrian Peterson and the running game.
9. Buffalo Bills: Jake Matthews (OT Texas A&M)
After investing a first round pick in QB E.J. Manual last year, they need to do all they can to keep him healthy. Matthews understands how to hold blocks for mobile QBs, playing with Johnny Manziel. Plus his bloodlines do not hurt his chances of living up to expectations in the NFL.
10. Detroit Lions: Justin Gilbert (CB Oklahoma State)
The Lions pass defense has been lackluster for years, even with a strong pass rush. Gilbert is a physical CB, who can take on the top-notch opposing No. 1 WRs in the NFC North. He is a complete defensive back, who can lock down one half of the field.
11. Tennessee Titans: Anthony Barr (DE/OLB)
With the transition to a 3-4 defense, they need to add OLB that fits the mold of edge rushers. Barr is a fast LB, that uses athleticism, which he utilized as a RB early in his career, to attack the QB.
12. New York Giants: C.J. Mosley (LB Alabama)
The Giants are looking to rework their entire defense, while losing some key veteran leaders over the past couple years. Mosley is a true sideline to sideline linebacker that was a field general for one of the best defenses in college the past several seasons.
13. St. Louis Rams: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix (S Alabama)
The Rams biggest defensive need is clearly at the safety position. Clinton-Dix has the rare ability to excel playing in centerfield or in the box. He has great size and adequate speed to be a playmaker all over the field.
14. Chicago Bears: Aaron Donald (DT Pittsburgh)
The Bears had one of the worst run defenses in the NFL last year, while needing to replace Henry Melton on the line. Donald may not have the prototypical DT size, he was a dominant force in college, and proved his athletic prowess at the combine.
15. Pittsburgh Steelers: Darqueze Dennard (CB Michigan State)
Dennard is a physical corner who can attack the dynamic receivers in the AFC North. Ike Taylor is not getting any younger and the Steelers need to look to add youthful playmakers to their aging defense.
16. Dallas Cowboys: Louis Nix III (DT Notre Dame)
The Cowboys front is going through a massive overhaul and need bodies at all positions. Nix may be the biggest of them all, as he can eat up several blockers to open things up for everyone else in the front seven. He is underrated athletic because of his size, but he can move down the line and make plays in space.
17. Baltimore Ravens: Taylor Lewan (OT Michigan)
The Ravens desperately needed to fix their offensive line woes from last season. Lewan adds a nasty streak with playing on either side as a physical tackle in college. He add a young piece to develop in protecting Joe Flacco for the next decade.
18. New York Jets: Eric Ebron (TE UNC)
Ebron is an ultra-talented middle of the field threat that can open things on the outside. He is physically imposing in the red-zone, with the ability to make catches over smaller defensive backs.
19. Miami Dolphins: Zach Martin (OL Notre Dame)
After last year’s fiasco along their line, they need to rebuild at several different positions. Martin can fill in at any spot up front, helping with the Dolphins top priority in protecting Ryan Tannehill.
20. Arizona Cardinals: Dee Ford (DE/OLB Auburn)
The one position sorely lacking from an otherwise stout defense is the pass rush. Ford adds a lot production, along with his athletic ability and good technique to get into the backfield.
21. Green Bay Packers: Calvin Pryor (S Louisville)
Green Bay needs to add help in the defensive backfield, with a player that can create turnovers. Pryor has a knack of being around the football, that can make big hits, but also bate QBs into throwing interceptions in the middle of the field.
22. Philadelphia Eagles: Odell Beckham Jr. (WR LSU)
With reports surfacing that the Eagles are attempting to move DeSean Jackson, they will have a hole to fill on their offense. Beckham Jr. has excellent speed to replace Jackson’s downfield ability, while a good locker room presence and polished route runner to contribute all over the field.
23. Kansas City Chiefs: Austin Seferian-Jenkins (TE Washington)
Andy Reid loves having a TE as a safety net for his QBs, while Alex Smith shown a strong connection with Vernon Davis while in San Francisco. Seafrin-Jenkins is a great athlete, with excellent size to be go-to target in this offense.
24. Cincinnati Bengals: Jason Verrett (CB TCU)
The Bengals biggest need is at corner, where injuries and struggling players hurt their chances last season. Verrett can play outside or in the nickel, adding depth to their defensive passing game.
25. San Diego Chargers: Cyrus Kouandjio (OT Alabama)
Kouandjio has great talent to go with his ideal size for the LT position. He fill the hole at the LT position, while paired with former teammate D.J. Fluker on the other side. The two would create on the best young tackle tandems for the next decade.
26. Cleveland Browns (From Indianapolis Colts): Derek Carr (QB Fresno State)
After addressing the WR unit with their first pick of Mike Evans, they have a plethora of play makers to utilize around a young QB. Carr has strong footwork and technique, while enough athleticism to escape pass rushers.
27. New Orleans Saints: Rashede Hageman (DT Minnesota)
Hageman is a strong bodied DL, who can any spot in a three man front. With cap casualties depleting the Saints front seven, they need to add versatile players that can attack the QB and remain stout in the run game.
28. Carolina Panthers: Brandin Cooks (WR Oregon State)
The Panthers lost every WR that really contributed in 2013 this off season. Cooks would give Cam Newton a speedy target to look for in the middle of the field and down the sidelines. He caught a high volume of passes in college, with his strong hands and good routes.
29. New England Patriots: Timmy Jernigan (DT Florida State)
The Patriots need to add depth across their defensive line, especially with concerns if Vince Wilfork will even be on the roster next year, let alone how much he has left. Jernigan has the skills to disrupt plays in back field and attack the QB from the middle of the line.
30. San Francisco 49ers: Kyle Fuller (CB Virginia Tech)
The 49ers are a complete team that does not need many upgrades. Fuller gives them another good corner, that can cover most NFL WRs. He has the upside to be a lock-down corner, that can play the run and the pass.
31. Denver Broncos: Xavier Su’a-Filo (OG UCLA)
The Broncos spent a lot this offseason to upgrade their defense, but lost out on key veteran guard, Zane Beadles. Su’a-Filo could step in as an immediate starter, in order to protect Peyton Manning, as well as move DL in the running game.
32. Seattle Seahawks: Kelvin Benjamin (WR Florida State)
Russell Wilson needs more help on the outside to improve his passing numbers. Benjamin is an talented player in college, with his ability to make catches on short to intermediate routes. He can be a go-to receiver, that would be a safety valve for Wilson, especially in the red zone.
