Philadelphia Eagles Offense vs. Denver Broncos Offense
Denver’s Defense: The Broncos pass defense is currently ranked 30th in the NFL, giving up almost 375 yards a game through the air. This stat is insignificant in the context of winning games because Denver’s offense has been so good that teams are consistently falling behind quickly and abandoning their ground attack (which is one of the reasons Denver’s run defense is ranked 1st in the NFL). That being said, in terms of fantasy value, the match up for the Eagles this Sunday is enticing. Through the first 3 weeks, Denver has given up 27 points to Baltimore, 23 points to the Giants, and 21 points to the Raiders; teams that are a combines 3-6. Even if the Eagles get behind early they will not abandon their versatile rushing attack which revolves around, LeSean Mccoy, Michael Vick, and Bryce Brown.
Denver’s Offense: Peyton Manning is on pace to pass for over 60 touchdowns and throw for over 6,000 yards, if you find yourself in Vegas in the near future, bet the under. Denver has played an extremely weak schedule so far and with upcoming matchups in Dallas, Indianapolis, New England, Houston, and Kansas City, look for Peyton and the Bronco’s offense to come back to earth. As for this week, the Broncos are going to score; a lot. The Eagles Defense is giving up almost 440 yards a game and lacks the talent in the secondary to match up with all of the Bronco’s weapons.
Outlook: Expect a shoot-out with Philadelphia hanging close until the fourth quarter when the altitude and a costly turnover will end the Eagles hope of an upset. Every skill position player on each team’s offense is a must start in standard 10 team fantasy leagues.
