The Ravens ship is taking on water. Fast. While Baltimore clinched a playoff birth last week when Pittsburgh lost in overtime to Dallas, the Ravens are unlikely to win another game this season. The Ravens legendary home field advantage has disappeared and a desperate New York Giants team will be salivating at the opportunity to dismantle the Ravens on both sides of the ball.
The Ravens offense looked as pedestrian as ever last week in their first game without offensive coordinator Cam Cameron. Joe Flacco has little time to throw and the decisions he makes when he has protection are puzzling. The only way the Ravens win on Sunday if is Ray Rice has an amazing performance and allows the Ravens to control the time of possession. If Baltimore continues to turn the ball over and falter on third downs, the Giants offense will dominate.
The NFL is strange. While the Ravens are on the verge of the biggest collapse in franchise history, a win on Sunday would give the Ravens the AFC North crown and guarantee them a playoff game in Baltimore.
I’d like to thank Brett Dickinson for allowing me to be on board with the website since day one; we at The Sports Column have some great ideas in motion for 2013. Merry Christmas to all and what a wonderful year 2012 has been in the year of sports.
This is my Note from underneath my Christmas Tree.
